It's okay if things feel hard right now, for you or for your child.
Whether it's for yourself, your teenager, or your child, you don't need to have it all figured out before reaching out. I work with individuals and families across all ages — in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
Hi, I'm Jeffrey Man
Thank you for being here. Reaching out, even just reading this, often takes more than people realise.
I'm a counsellor and play therapist in Hong Kong, working with adults, teens, children, and parents through the harder, more tender stretches of life. You'll find me at Harrow International School and at the Hong Kong Professional Counselling & Consulting Association (HKPCCA), where I've supported people and families since 2022.
However we begin, my approach is gentle and unhurried. For a child, that often means meeting them in play; for a teenager or adult, a quiet space to think out loud. I follow your lead, trust that you know your own life best, and walk alongside you in whichever language feels most like home: English, Cantonese, or Mandarin.
How I can help
Child Play Therapy
Children don't always have the words for what they're feeling — but they can show it through play. Grounded in Child-Centred Play Therapy, these sessions meet children where they are, at their own pace. Learn about the play therapy process →
Adolescent Counselling
Teenagers are carrying a lot — identity, pressure, relationships, and a world that moves fast. Individual sessions give teens somewhere honest to bring it, without the weight of family or school dynamics in the room.
Parenting Consultation
For parents who want to strengthen their connection with their child. Drawing on Child-Parent Relationship Therapy principles, these sessions offer practical skills alongside honest, compassionate support.
Adult Counselling
For adults going through something difficult — stress, anxiety, low mood, burnout, a relationship that's hurting, or a life that no longer feels like yours. Sessions are a space to slow down, think out loud, and feel less alone with it all.

Some of the most meaningful feedback comes from the children themselves — little notes left behind after our sessions together.

Frequently asked questions
What happens in the first session?
The first session is simply a conversation. I'll ask a little about what's brought you here and what you're hoping for, but there's no pressure to share more than feels comfortable. We'll spend time getting to know each other, and together we can think about what ongoing sessions might look like.
Is everything I share confidential?
Yes. Everything discussed in our sessions is kept strictly confidential. There are a small number of legal exceptions, for example if there is a serious risk of harm, but wherever possible I will always speak with you before sharing anything with anyone else.
How much do sessions cost?
Counselling sessions are HK$1,300 (50 minutes), and child play therapy is HK$1,500 (45 minutes). If cost is a concern, please still get in touch and we can talk it through.
Where do sessions take place?
I see clients in person at practice rooms in North Point, Prince Edward, and Jordan. Online sessions over video are also available if that's easier for you.
How does play therapy work?
Children often communicate more naturally through play than through words. In Child-Centred Play Therapy, I create a safe, consistent space where your child can express their inner world through toys, art, and imaginative play, without the pressure to talk. I also offer regular parent consultations so you stay informed and supported throughout the process.
What approach do you use?
I work in a gentle, unhurried way and follow your lead. With children that often means Child-Centred Play Therapy; with parents, sessions that draw on Child-Parent Relationship Therapy principles; and with teens and adults, Person-Centred Therapy. Together we'll find what feels right for you.
Can sessions be in Cantonese or Mandarin?
Yes. I work in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, and I'm equally comfortable in all three. Many families switch between languages mid-session, and that's completely fine.
Who do you work with?
I work with adults, teenagers, children, and parents. Whether it's for yourself or for someone you love, you're warmly welcome to reach out.
