Child play therapy

Play is a child's natural language. Child-Centred Play Therapy gives children aged 3 to 11 a safe, consistent space to express what they can't yet put into words, and to work through difficult feelings at their own pace.

It's a play-based, developmentally appropriate approach for children navigating emotional, social, behavioural, or relational difficulties. Within a relationship built on acceptance and empathy, children process their experiences through play. It's the relationship itself that does the deepest healing.

How the work unfolds

Play therapy · 45 minutes

Time in the playroom

Your child meets with me in a carefully prepared playroom. By reflecting their feelings and actions, gently holding boundaries, and nurturing their self-esteem, I help them work through what's troubling them and grow in confidence, at a pace that's right for them.

Parent consultation · 50–60 minutes

Walking alongside you

Parent consultations run through the whole journey. We begin with one to set goals together, meet again roughly every four to six sessions to review how your child is progressing, and close with a final consultation as we bring the work to an end. Along the way, you'll understand how play therapy works and learn child-centred parenting skills to help you and your child co-regulate and strengthen your bond.
